NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION ELECTS NEW LEADERS

Winners of the August 2018 elections of the Nigerian Bar Association have been announced. They are

1.         Paul Usoro, SAN – President-elect

2.         Taidi Jonathan Gunu – General Secretary-elect

3.         Imo Chidozie – 1st Vice President-elect

4.         Dada Folake Olayemi – 2nd Vice President-elect

5.         Igba Terhile – 3rd Vice President-elect

6.         Obasi Gladys – 2nd Assistant Secretary-elect

7.         Anosike Emeka – Financial Secretary-elect

8.         Pepple Iniobong Irene – Assistant Financial Secretary-elect

9.         Edo Olukunle – Publicity Secretary-elect

10.       Olagbegi Olaoba Victoria – Treasurer-elect

11.       Usman Jushua Enemali – Welfare Secretary-elect

12.       Eze Innocent Nnamdi as – Legal Adviser-elect.

 

According to the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, ECNBA, a total of 16,115 lawyers were accredited, out of which 12,421 voted. An electronic voting platform was used for the elections to enable lawyers to vote directly, a second successive time, in the history of the body.

 

Paul Usoro’s votes topped those of two other aspirants for the office of the President, Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN) and Prof. Ernest Ojukwu (SAN) who polled 4,423 and 3,313 respectively. Afam Osigwe, another aspirant had been disqualified before the elections.
