TREATY ON MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL MATTERS BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA (RATIFICATION AND ENFORCEMENT) ACT
An Act to enable effect to be given in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Treaty between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of South Africa on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters; and for related purposes.
WHEREAS the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of South Africa was signed by the Vice- President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa on the 28th day of March, 2002 at Pretoria, South Africa; AND
WHEREAS the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has by a decision duly reached in accordance with her constitutional process ratified the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of South Africa on 30th November, 2002;
AND WHEREAS it is necessary and expedient to enact a law to enable effect to be given to the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of South Africa.
