LAGOS STATE LOTTERIES AND GAMING LAW, 2021 [LAW NO. 7]

A Law to establish the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, to harmonise all laws relating to gaming activities in Lagos State, provide for the regulation and control of all gaming activities and for connected purposes.

The Lagos State House of Assembly enacts as follows:

1.     Interpretation.   

In this Law, unless the context otherwise requires-

“Agent” means authorised operator of a Licensee;

“Approval in principle” means a temporary licence issued to a licensee;

“Auditor-General” means the Auditor-General of Lagos State;            

“Authorised price” means the price determined by the licensee as approved by the Authority;          

“Bank” means a bank holding a licence granted under the Banks and other Financial Institutions Act;

“Car Racing” means physical motor sport involving the racing of automobile for competition;

“Cheating” includes but is not limited to syndicated bets, collusion with other players, agents, staff or other representatives of a licensee or staff or representatives of the Authority;

-Combined Licence” means any additional Licence(s) issued in addition to an existing licence held by a licensee in respect of any other lotteries and games.
