THE LAND USE REGULATIONS 1981

NOTICE OF REVOCATION OF RIGHT OF OCCUPANCY

IN THE MATTER OF ALL THAT PARCEL OF LAND (WITH ANY IMPROVMENTS THEREON) SITUATE AND LYING WITHIN LEKKI PENINSULA IN THE ETI-OSA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AAND IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF LAGOS STATE

WHEREAS since the year 1981, the land DESCRIBED IN THE Schedule to this Notice (hereinafter referred to as “the said land”) has been acquired for overriding public interest, that is to say:

(a)        for the construction of Lower, Medium and Upper Income Housing Schemes;

(b)        for the construction of Schools and Hospitals; and

(c)        for the Private Estate Developers’ Schemes.

2.         AND WHEREAS acting bona fide in the belief that the rights of occupancy had been effectively extinguished, the Governor granted statutory rights of occupancy in the said land to diverse bodies, corporate directly established by law, bodies incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, institutions and individuals for the furtherance of one or the other various public purposes aforementioned.
