PROFILE OF THE AFRICAN MOTHERHOOD INITIATIVE, AMI
The African Motherhood Initiative, is a nonprofit organisation registered in 2012 with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. AMI, focus is the facilitation of strategic partnerships and collaborations as well of support of initiatives committed to the advancement of the wellbeing of children, women and the family unit in Africa through poverty reduction, education and capacity building programmes.
Among others, AMI supports the Mental Health Foundation’s programmes aimed at combating and managing mental health issues in Nigeria through education and other interventions; the Nigerian Constitution Hub’s work in promoting constitutional literally including the groundbreaking publication of a translation of the Nigerian Constitution in a format suitable for primary and secondary schools students; and of course, the Children & Women Law and Policy Center.

PROFILE OF THE FOUNDER, AMI: MRS JOY IKIEBE
Joy Chinelo Ikiebe, devoted wife, mother, advocate and pastor is an experienced corporate law professional, management advisor and entrepreneur. With over 27 years in strategic management roles and legal practice, Joy is currently the Senior Partner at Ikiebe & Company, a law firm she established over two decades ago which is retained by numerous local and multinational organizations in the manufacturing, construction, banking, oil and gas and general corporate law.
A former Group Company Secretary of the C & C Group of Companies, Joy has served on the Boards of several companies and public institutions. Those include South Atlantic Petroleum, SAPETRO (where she served on the Finance and General Purpose Committee) and the Institute for Energy Law (USA) as a member of its advisory boards.
A 2013 Coca-Cola scholar and alumnus of the prestigious Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos and University of Buckingham, UK, Joy a member of the the Institute for National Transformationand lecturer at the Institute for Leadership and Bible Studies, Lagos. She is the co-founder of African Motherhood Initiative, AMI, and oversees its strategic partnerships and collaborations initiatives with particular focus on the support and sponsorship of platforms committed to the advancement of the wellbeing of children, women and the family unit in Africa.
