PART I – GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. Power to appoint sanitary authorities for particular areas
(1) The Commissioner may, by notice in the State Gazette, appoint such persons as he may think fit to be sanitary authorities for such areas within Lagos State and for such periods as may be set out in the said notice.
(2) Subject to the provisions of section 16, where a sanitary authority is appointed for any area under the
provisions of subsection (1), such sanitary authority shall have and exercise the powers and duties conferred upon a sanitary authority by the provisions of this Law.
