LOCAL BORROWINGS LAW

A LAW TO AUTHORISE THE BORROWING OF MONEY FROM CERTAIN PUBLIC AUTHORITIES AND CORPORATIONS

[Commencement]                                                           [1st April 1949]

1.      Government may receive loans from certain corporations, etc.

(1)     The Government of the State is hereby authorised to receive, from time to time, loans of money from any of the public authorities and corporations specified in the First, Schedule.

[First Schedule.]

(2)     The Executive Council may from time to time, by order, add to the First Schedule, a reference to any other public authority or corporation in Nigeria:

Provided that any such addition shall have reference only to the functions of the State.
