THE LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY enacts as follows:

1.       Amendment to the Principal Law

The Local Government Administration Law. Cap. L89 Laws of Lagos State.2015 (referred to in this Law as the “Principal Law”) is amended as follows-

2.       Amendment to Section 12(1)

Section 12(1) of the principal Law is deleted and a new Section 1291) is inserted as follows –

          “(1)   The Council shall stand dissolved at the expiration of a period of four (4) years commencing                  from the date when the Councillors take and subscribe to their oath of Membership”.

Amendment to Section 21(1)

3.       Section 21(1) of the Principal Law is amended by adding a new Section 21(1)(a) as follows –           “(a)    has been elected as Chairman of any Local Government Area or Local Council Development Area in the State at any two (2) previous elections.”
