THE LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY  enacts as follows:

1.       Interpretation

In this law, unless the context otherwise requires:

          “Council” means the Governing council of the Lagos State Merit Award Scheme established by Section 4 of this law;

          “Commissioner” means the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations or a member of the State Executive Council for the time being charged with responsibility for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations;

          “Governor” means the Governor of Lagos State;

          “House” means the Lagos State House of Assembly; and

          “State” means Lagos State of Nigeria.
