LAGOS STATE RESIDENTS’ REGISTRATION AGENCY LAW

A LAW TO ESTABLISH THE LAGOS STATE RESIDENTS’ REGISTRATION AGENCY AND FOR CONNECTED PURPOSES

[Commencement] (27th of June, 2011)               

THE LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY enacts as follows:

1.       Establishment of the Lagos State Residents’ Registration Agency

(1)     There is established the Lagos State Residents’ Registration Agency (referred to in this Law as “the Agency”).

(2)     The Agency shall—

(a)     be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal;

(b)     have power to sue and be sued in its corporate name; and

(c)     be capable of purchasing, acquiring, holding and disposing of movable  and immovable property for the purpose of exercising its functions under this Law.
