PROFILE OF FIRM: VALUE PROPOSITION

HOPE OMOROGIE & COMPANY,a firm of legal practitioners (hereinafter called the “FIRM”) is registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act. The firm’s registered office is at Plot 1103 Aminu Kano Crescent Wuse II Abuja. It has however moved its office to Suite 313 Anbeez Plaza, Plot 2121 Ndola Square, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The firm’s vision is to provide proficient and innovative services to its clientele.

The firm carries out general legal practice but with particular interest in the following areas:-

1. LITIGATION: The firm has well seasoned and well grounded lawyers who handle every aspect of litigation for its clientele. It should be noted that the firm’s clientele cut across every strata of the society including corporate bodies. These classes of clients were gotten through hard work and dedication while however acknowledging the good hand of God in the affairs of the firm.

The litigation aspect of the firm’s operation is taking with all seriousness and this has paid off by the increasing number of cases being won by the office on behalf of its clients with the resultant effect of the increasing number of cases being brought to the firm to handle.

Because of the place of importance the firm accords litigation, all cases are tackled with all seriousness by lawyers in chambers with pre-trial meetings with clients, and preview and review of cases by lawyers in chambers.

The firm therefore takes a professional look as cases brought before it and advise clients accordingly. Where there is need to settle out of court or engage in arbitration, clients are accordingly advised.

2. CORPORATE PRACTICE: The firm’s area of corporate practice includes the following:-

     a.  PROPERTY CONSULTANCY: The firm engages in assisting its numerous clients in the acquisition and disposition of their real estate.

In assisting its clients in the acquisition of real estate, the firm carries out comprehensive searches on the prospective property to ensure the veracity of the titles. It therefore confirm whether such property is free from any encumbrance like undischarged mortgage, charge etc.

The firm thereafter submits its findings to the clients and advises same on the suitability of such property for acquisition. When such property is finally acquired, the firm also goes ahead to perfect the interest of the clients at the respective land registries and make sure that adequate and effective documentation is done to secure the interest of the clients. These come in from of registration of Deed of Assignment, Power of Attorney, Deed of Sub-Lease etc.

Further, the firm’s land registry transactions extend to applying on instructions from its clients and on their behalf for the issuance of certified true copiesof documents where necessary, change of purpose clause, sub-division etc.

Furthermore, the firm engages in the management of developed properties for its clients. This is done by relating with the tenants in accordance with the laws guiding the relationship between landlords and tenants.

b.       CORPORATE CONSULTANCY: With all lawyers in chambers duly accredited with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the firm carries on every aspect of corporate consultancy services with the CAC.

These include pre-incorporation and post incorporation services. Under pre-incorporation, the firm engages in the preparation of incorporation documents, filing same on behalf of clients and following up same to get such companies, business names and associations under parts A, B and C respectively of Companies and Allied Matter Act (CAMA) registered.

The firm also carries out post incorporate service for its numerous clients. Such services include obtaining of certified true copies of documents, conducting searches, paying annual returns, processing increase in share capital of companies, change of names, alteration of memorandum and articles of association, registration of mortgages and debentures and any form of transaction that is carried out at the Commission.

It should be noted that the scope of the firm’s corporate practice is not limited to the ones mentioned above as the firm carries out other tasks on behalf of clients as the need arises.
